Dear family and friends
We are very happy to announce that we finally found the ideal organization that share our passion and effort towards the under privileged children.
World Tour For Children overland trip will work closely with Borneo Child Aid Society Sabah, Malaysia http://www.borneochildaid.org/ to raise targeted RM100,000 from both corporate and kind Malaysian public during the whole duration of our quest from Penang to London.
I have included the link on this blog that will brings you directly to their donors website.
Again, this amount seems big and I have been receiving push back from certain quarters asking 'What if you do not achieve this target?'
My question to them would be 'What will happen if we do not reach this target?'. Are we going to be prosecuted for not raising enough money?
Many people fails to see that sometimes it is not the results that matters but the FIRST step and effort to make it REAL is the most important.
By taking action from our idea, we have already won half the battle... we did not let OUR dreams faded away and burial inside us. You often hear words like 'I will do it when the times is right' or 'I know it can be done but this is not the right time', but deep inside our heart we know that the only thing that stop us from taking action is SETBACK and afraid of failure.
Questions like 'What if I don't make it? Will my peers laugh at me? Will I be labelled as a failure?'
The answer is NO. There is a vast different between 'I failed' and 'I am a failure'.
This journey from Penang to London is not only an endurance physical test for our members but it is more to strengthen our mentality to cope with failure and push back. With a positive mindset, we will conquer the world!
Finally, we urged and seek the support from all quarters to help us reach our targeted RM100,000 donation by the end of our journey to London.
Your contribution in helping us to create awareness among your network will prove you still have the heart for less fortunate fellow Malaysian... you can break a stick but you never break a bunch of sticks!

Hardware Mode in Haadyai
Haadyai Thailand 10 March 2012- We took a few weeks to figure where should we install our aft hard top canopy. It was a 'no brainer' when we found that Haadyai is actually almost 50% cheaper than in Penang.
Adrian and I decided to drive up to 'The Land of Thousand Smiles' on 10 March 2012 for this purpose. The day started early when Adrian picked me up from my mom-in-law place at 10 March 0430hrs. We took a turn to the famous Penang road 'Line Clear' Nasi Kandar stall and 'tekan' two plates of Penangites famous dishes.
We reached Thai border approximately 2hours after we left Penang and it didn't take long (including stopping by Chang Lung for vehicle insurance) before we are Sadao, Thailand.
It has been a few years since I last visited Haadyai by road, but my memory still serves me well and it was only a short while before we found the heart of old Haadyai- Pink Lady shopping mall.
We quickly parked our car and heads off for our morning Thai breakfast including thai handmade pau, fried koay teow, half boiled eggs and hot cuppa of coffee.
Thereafter we took a spin on our Hilux to start looking around for suitable accessories shop in town. My dear friend from Haadyai has already told me approximately price for a 'Carryboy' hard top canopy before we left Haadyai. It took us 03 shops before we decided to go for the 'G3 series Carryboy'.
Installation took us about 4hours and in the meantime, we ventured the old town on foot including chicken rice lunch and some shopping.
Before we leave Thai border, we managed to have our dinner over at Sadao, Thailand for a decent meal... it was fantastic!
Overall, we are very satisfied with the results and the new look of our Hilux. Our short one day venture ends in Penang at 10 Mar 2300hrs when Adrian dropped me back to 3 Mandalay Road Penang.

One word that bring us this Far- Teamwork!
Dear Fellow Friends and Family
11 Feb2012 1100hrs Penang, Malaysia
Today marks yet another achievement for our team as we took delivery of our team Hilux 2.5AT from Prima Pearl Toyota Sdn, Bhd in Sunway Tunas, Penang.
Our new addition lady Hilux carries the number plate of PKL 4745 (get your pencil and head down to the nearest 4D shop now!) and she is as gorgeous as she could be, sleek bodyline and having all the muscle to do the job. She is all we have to bring us to London on 1 June 2012.
Immediately after taking delivery of her, our team member Adrian King drove her to the nearest petrol station for full tank top up (don't ask me which petrol station he went) and both us heads directly to OFA Penang for our scheduled meeting with Kek Fei, Cher and Saik Mun.
I and Adrian reached OFA early and we had lunch in our usual restaurant, the OFA Restaurant. The meeting started at about 1315hrs and we managed to clarified a few of pending issues.
All team members present showed great commitment and enthusiasm to make this trip a unforgettable one. Our team has committed to The Star Foundation to raise RM100,000 for the homeless children and we are confident to reach the target within our 8 weeks trip to London.
We could not have done it till this stage without the effort and contribution from every single of our team members.
Thank you Team and let us works even closer to set our sight to London 30July 2012!
Brgds
Steve

The A Team!
Sat 04 Feb2012 Old Town Coffee at New World Park Penang
Today marks the first time we have 100% attendance from all team members who committed their time and effort to make this trip a successful one.
Our final team members consists of all Old Frees (for some of you out there who still do not know what this means, Old Penang Free School boys!) except the lady of our member and our avid professional outdoor cameraman.
As mention, we choose to make this decision not because it is easy but because it is HARD!
We had half of our team purposely driving from KL to Penang just to attend our 3 hours meeting and return to KL on the same day. This is what we call 'the Action guy' and this attitude is what differentiate between the 99% masses and 1% ultra successful people! Ultra successful people puts idea on the move...
Thank you again for your support and lets Get Penang on the WORLD MAP!

Subject: Driving Trip from Penang to London [ 1st June 2012 till 30th July 2012]
Hi all,
We are glad to share with OFA members and or Old Frees that a group of Old Frees who do not represent any organisation are planning for a driving trip from Penang to London starting from 1 June 2012 till 30th July 2012. Capt. Steven Foong, who is leading the group, informed us that their main intention for the trip are as follows :
1) Spread happiness and love by visiting overseas orphanages along the trip and to share our beautiful Malaysian diversified cultures.
2) Fund raising for needy orphanages in Malaysia.
3) Penang Free School alumni still have what it takes to set a fine example of achievers as a Premier School in Malaysia and now show the true meaning of "Malaysia Boleh".
They have created a blog for more information on the trip www.worldtourforchildren.blogspot.com Or you may liaise with Capt. Steven Foong ( th_steve@ymail.com ) for more information.
We thank you.
