04 July 2014 Singapore to Kuantan, Pahang Malaysia

We started planning for the trip about 04 weeks ago. Initially a four days ride from Singapore to Kota Bharu, Kelantan Malaysia and due to feedback and request to shorten the trip, we decided to make it a 03days ride instead. During the planning stage, we have decided to limit the distance travel to not more than 300km per day as we wanted to enjoy the slow ride and also due to the nature of the road conditions. We are traveling via the Malaysian trunk road where it is heavily used by heavy vehicles as well.

First petrol stop at Ulu Tiram Johor

Our group consists of Ooi, Tahir and myself. We had a few more interested friends who wished to join us but their leave application were rejected at the last moment.

We gathered at Thomson Road coffee shop at 0630hrs. Everyone were punctual and we pushed off at 0640hrs. Everything went smoothly and we cleared Malaysian Custom and Immigration by 0730hrs. Since all of us have enough fuel, we decided to heads directly to Mersing for breakfast as planned earlier, making one petrol stop at Ulu Tiram.

We continued our trip to Pekan Pahang after our super good breakfast. Pekan is the Royal Town for Pahang, where Pahang Sultan and his family lives. The town was a great place to be and it is a huge place, slightly bigger town than we thought. We wanted a small cosy town therefore we decided to ride further north to Kuantan.

We found The Cempaka Beach Resort (http://cempakabeachresort.wix.com/cempakabeachresort#!contactus/c3kh) purely by luck while we were heading towards Kuantan. This secluded resort is a perfect getaway we need and the best part is, we are the only guest for the hotel on that day.

The reception table was not manned so we have to call the number provided for service

This is the best part of the trip

Everyone is taking time to send our trip photos to their loves one at home

Based on hotel staff, Encik Cikgu recommendation we went to search for the best dinner in town and then followed up by a slow ride to Teluk Cempedak which is about 20km from our hotel.
